Rising Damp

Rising damp is caused by ground level higher than d p c line this usually rises around a meter high to solve this the height of ground level shoud be lowered or if this is not possible a section taken away and membrane applied higher than the ground height passing dpc inside and out.If d p c level is correct and still rising this can be due to corroded d p c or even none as houses built before 1873 did not have d p c courses then an injection system will be needed on the morter joint
PENATRATING DAMP

Penetrating damp is a problem caused by external rendering coats turning hollow and finally blown due to water ingress which gets inside the render coats from the slightest crack, the damage can be worst in winter as the water freezes and expands and opens the wound more thus letting more volume of water in and creating pushing action which blows the render the water then penetrates through the brick and the only way out is in.Other causes can be broken guttering rotten edging felt,even pipe work inside.Damage inside must be hacked back and aired out ,the same applies to out side then totally redone in new finish coats dependent on how severe damage is.If there is no access to out side wall then a oldroyde dpc membrame system will be applied
Condensation & Mould
Mould is usually mistaken for damp ingress. Mould is created by condensation,condensation is created by cold surfaces meeting warm air ,to cure this you must create a barrier between the two to stop the tempeatures meeting hense thermal application

STAGE 1 PREPERATION
Preperation begins with checking for hollow spots,then applying sealer,finally fixing beading to where nesesary
STAGE 2 APPLICATION
Second part consits of applying waterproofing scratch rendering coat this is to level out any inperfections ,we then apply a second waterproofing coat while wet and tacky your choice of stone is applied

Pebble dashing is a choice of decorative stones which are applied to the external of your home in a waterproofing rendering coat this can be an option if you have hollow and blown rendering causing penetrating water to occur internally ,amongst transforming an old and ageing property totally in to a new one .
